DIRECTIONS FOR FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE GARD THEATER

The Gard Theater, on Jefferson Street in downtown Spring Green, will have a free, public reading featuring LitFest authors on Friday night*. Click here for a map of downtown Spring Green. Driving directions are available below:

From Madison, Wisconsin:
Drive west out of Madison on Highway 14 (which begins as University Avenue) to Spring Green for approximately 45 minutes, crossing the Wisconsin River. 

Take a left onto Highway 23 S. The 4th street on the right is Jefferson Street (this street is identified by a "Business district" sign). Turn right. The Gard Theater is on the right hand side on Jefferson Street, between Worcester and Lexington Streets, and has a prominent blue and white sign. There is parking available on Jefferson, Worcester, and Lexington streets. 

From Chicago, Illinois:
You will arrive in Madison via I90 N (Chicago). Once in Madison, take a left exit onto Hwys 12/18 W. Follow Hwys 12/18 W to Hwy 14 W (exit 251). Follow Hwy 14 W to Spring Green for approximately 45 minutes. You will cross the Wisconsin River. 

Take a left onto Highway 23 S. The 4th street on the right is Jefferson Street (this street is identified by a "Business district" sign). Turn right. The Gard Theater is on the right hand side on Jefferson Street, after Worcester Street, and before Lexington, and has a prominent blue and white sign. There is parking available on Jefferson, Worcester, and Lexington streets. 

From Milwaukee, Wisconsin:
You will arrive in Madison, WI via I94 W to I90 E. Once in Madison, exit onto Hwys 12/18 W. Follow Hwys 12/18 W to Hwy 14 W (exit 251). Follow Hwy 14 W to Spring Green for approximately 45 minutes. You will cross the Wisconsin River. 

Take a left onto Highway 23 S. The 4th street on the right is Jefferson Street (this street is identified by a "Business district" sign). Turn right. The Gard Theater is on the right hand side on Jefferson Street, between Worcester and Lexington Streets, and has a prominent blue and white sign. From Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, or Eau Claire, Wisconsin:
Take I90/94 SE to Hwy 23 S (exit near Lake Delton). Follow Hwy 23 S for about an hour through several small towns, the last of which is Spring Green. Hwy 23 intersects Hwy 14 at the town's stoplight. Take a left at the stop light, onto Hwy 14 E for less than half a mile to the intersection of Hwy 14 and 23 S. Turn right off Hwy 14 to continue on Hwy 23 S.

The Gard Theater is on the right hand side on Jefferson Street, between Worcester and Lexington Streets, and has a prominent blue and white sign. There is parking available on Jefferson, Worcester, and Lexington streets. 

From LaCrosse, Wisconsin:
Follow Hwy 14 east about 90 miles to the village of Spring Green. Go through the stoplight/intersection of Hwys 14 and 23, and continue straight for less than half a mile. Turn right on Hwy 23 S. 

The 4th street on the right is Jefferson Street (this street is identified by a "Business district" sign). Turn right. The Gard Theater is on the right hand side on Jefferson Street, between Worcester and Lexington Streets, and has a prominent blue and white sign. There is parking available on Jefferson, Worcester, and Lexington streets. 

From Dubuque, Iowa:
Take Hwy 151 N for 45 miles. Take exit 44, Hwy 23 N, to Dodgeville. Follow Hwy 23 N approximately 18 miles towards Spring Green. You will cross the Wisconsin River. 

You will cross railroad tracks. The first street on the left after the railroad tracks is Jefferson Street (this street is identified by a "Business district" sign). The Gard Theater is on the right hand side on Jefferson Street, between Worcester and Lexington Streets, and has a prominent blue and white sign. There is parking available on Jefferson, Worcester, and Lexington streets. 


* Registrants for the Spring Green Literary Festival will be issued tickets for the Friday night reading. The Gard Theater seats approximately 250 people and preference will be given to LitFest registrants with tickets.
